MEMETASTIC!!!!1! (Part Two)

AND NOW... PRACTICAL(ish) STUFF!!

Now that the Wiki is nicely populated and bloated with data, it is time for some practical(ish) media work about Memes.

You will be working in teams of two-three.

- choose TWO memes you like (from the wiki) and create a video OR a podcast discussing them. Whatever you do, post the results to your blog.

You can use video cameras and Premier Pro to create videos. You can also use Quicktime on the Mac to record your screen if you need footage of a meme in action.
You can use Garageband on the Mac to create podcasts.

Your work needs to include:

•   a history of the meme - where it started, who started it, when it started.
•   a description of the meme - what it is, how it works.
•   a discussion of the meme - where it appears now, why you like it, why you think it is popular.
•   how popular the meme is, how far has it spread around the world, where did you find out about it?
•   a comparison between the two memes; how they differ, why people like them, what sort of meme they are.
•   think of something you wish WAS a meme. Maybe it can become a meme! Include this in your work.
